About the adopt-a-StUDENT program

The MCC Adopt-A-Student program began in 2003 as the Adopt-An-Athlete program.  The Adopt-A-Student program is now open to all MCC students who would like to participate.  The program is designed to help non-local students at McCook Community College feel more at home while they are attending college.  The college will have between 150 and 160 students residing in the MCC dorm this year.  The friendships made by both the students and host families can last way beyond their time here in McCook.  We look forward to this program continuing on, and being a big success for the community and the MCC students.

NJCAA rules do apply toward this program.  They are listed below the fillable form at the bottom of this page.  Please read them for your information.

FAMILIES WANTED!!!

The MCC Administration and MCC Indians Boosters are excited for the 2023-24 Adopt-A-Student program.  We are looking for families to adopt MCC students for the upcoming school year.  We feel this is a great chance for your family to meet some of the non-local students at the college and show them a family environment here in the great town of McCook.

As a host family, we ask that you have the students over to your home a few times per month for a meal.  NJCAA rules do apply toward this program and will be provided to the families who participate in the program (they can also be found at the very bottom of this page). If interested, you can download the form, complete it, and mail it to the MCC Indians Boosters, Inc., or you can complete the registration form below and hit submit; either way is fine.  Requests are completed on a FIRST COME-FIRST SERVE basis, so don't delay in getting your application form submitted.  The application form also includes a special “Waiver Form” that all families MUST sign in order to participate in the program. The waiver can be downloaded below so you can sign and return it.

Note: The MCC Indians Boosters Inc. follow the MCC Administration and state and local Department of Health guidelines. The Boosters reserve the right to suspend or cancel the program at any point during the current school year. The overall health and wellness of our students, participating families, and area communities are very important to us.
